Men's Basketball Defeated by Humber

The Niagara College men's basketball program fell to the Humber Hawks of Wednesday, November 13th by a score of 86-53.

The young Knights played some of their strongest basketball of the season to open the game, trailing the powerhouse Hawks by just three points at the half. Knights' head coach Steve Atkin felt his team played with "great passion to open the game."

A 13-3 run by the Hawks to start the third quarter however set the tone for the rest of the game. The Knights struggled to find any offensive rhythm in the second half registering just 15 points.

Coach Atkin continued "The key was to come out just as hard to start the second half and set the tone early which we failed to do. We are a young team that needs to put together a full four quarters."

Leading the way offensively for Niagara was veteran guard Aiden Alize-Minty. The Elmvale native recorded 16 points in the loss.

The Knights will face a short turnaround as the team will host the Mohawk Mountaineers at the Welland Campus Athletic Centre on Sunday, November 17th at 3:30pm. Admission is free for all Niagara College students and all Knights home games are live broadcasted and archived at www.ocaatv.com
