Weavers, Littlefield named Niagara College Athletes of the Year

The Niagara College Department of Athletics & Recreation celebrated another tremendous season of athletic excellence on Friday night at the Riverstone Event Centre in Welland, as they held their 47th Annual Athletic Awards Banquet. The event marks the official culmination of the 2015-16 intercollegiate season.

Five Knights earn Academic All-Canadian awards

Five Niagara Knights student-athletes were named 2015-16 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Academic All-Canadian award recipients on April 6th. Lorelle Weavers (Golf), Josiah Dixon (Golf), Steve Stone (Volleyball), Jeff Scott (Volleyball), and Megan Droog (Curling).

The Niagara Knights men’s volleyball program (14-4, 2nd OCAA West) had a trio of players named OCAA All-Stars on Thursday at the OCAA Championship. Jeff Scott (Georgetown), Nathan Snippe (St. Anns), and Steve Stone (St. Catharines) were all named men’s volleyball all-stars for their regular season performances.
