Barber Returns to NC Women's Volleyball

The Niagara College Department of Athletics & Recreation is pleased to announce the addition of Kaylee Barber to the Women's Volleyball Program. Barber previously competed for the Knights from 2010-2012, and has elected to return to Niagara College to enroll in the Co-Op Executive Office Administration program.

The 22-year old St. Catharines native commented "This will be my second time attending Niagara College. I enjoy the college's class sizes, the professors are always around to help you, and wanting you to succeed, and most importantly I found a program that really caught my interest."

Barber plays the crucial setter position and her previous experience in a Knights uniform and with the Niagara Rapids volleyball club, should help her make an immediate impact with the Women's Volleyball program.

Niagara College Women's Volleyball head coach Joey Martins said "as a coaching staff we are excited to have Kaylee back with our program. She will bring experience and calmness to the court from our setter position."

Aside from her new academic program, Barber cited some unfinished business on the court as one of her reasons from returning to the Knights. She added "I'm excited for my second round at Niagara with the Knights.  I think I can play at a higher level, and the opportunity to play with a new group of girls is great."

Barber and the rest of the Niagara College Knights women's volleyball program with begin their 2013-14 season on Tuesday, September 10th at 7:30pm when the team hosts their first of three open try-outs.  First serve for the Knights regular season is set for October 26th when the team visits the Boreal Vipers.
