Knights Women’s Basketball Lose to the Humber Hawks on the Road

October 29, 2025

TORONTO, ON: The Niagara Knights women's basketball team (0-3) lost their 2nd game of a 3-game road trip, falling 99-71 to the Humber Hawks (2-0).

Despite 4 of the 5 Knights starters scoring double-digit points, the Knights could not contain the strong offensive and towering height that the Humber Hawks brought to this game.

If the Knights could have repeated the 1st quarter 3 more times, they would have come home a happy team.  Trailing by only 1 point after a hot start, their offense cooled off drastically for the 2nd quarter as Humber's only heated up.  The Knights found themselves in a 12-point hole at the halfway mark – still very much in this game.

The 3rd quarter saw the Knights bring out some stronger defense, as they held the Hawks to a game-low 18 points in the frame.  However, the Knights offense could not heat up again as they scored only 14 points of their own to increase the deficit to 16 points with only one quarter remaining.  Humber pulled away even further in the 4th quarter to take their 2nd win of the season.

4th year Lexxus Bell scored a team-high 18 points and added 1 assist and 1 steal.  2nd year standout Lyric Shallow scored double-digit points in her third straight game, adding 17 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals as well as going 3-for-3 from the free throw line.  1st year Emma Vendittelli had herself a game, scoring 13 points, 9 of those being from beyond the 3-point line.  She also added 2 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals for good measure.

Niagara has yet another quick turnaround before their 3rd and final away game of this road trip.  They will travel to Brampton to take on the Sheridan Bruins on Friday, October 31st.  Tipoff is scheduled for 6pm at the Davis Campus Gymnasium.
